Course of documentary photography continues the reporting creations of the 1st year. An important part of the course is the understanding of the basic markings of documentary photography, its development and changes as well as the adoption of necessary documentary photography skills in the exercises and cultivation of its premises: Ability to acquire information, a bearing in it, perceptual aptitude, visual sensibilities, knowledge of expression tools and image composition, dexterity in easy mastery of photography technology, abilities to analyse facts, visual skills in sharing those facts with an ability predict the final photographic results. Instruction will be directed towards the image composition of a photography publication - common book. Instruction places an emphasis on the personal development of a young photographer.

Consultation on the developing work - from assignment to final implementation 25%
(Concept explication and selected topic, contact sheets, working viewing copies, selection and arranging photos with order marking in the collection or simple reference of the final arrangement in a surface page.
Grading of resulting work: 50%

Tasks: (exercise 2P3)
The individual in relation to human society.
Exercise description and assignment:
Conceptual collection implemented as a image book - album. The requirements are congruent to the topically conceived collection of documentary photographs. A visuallly personal documentarily defined form of a selected topic from life in a city or in the country. The topic is selected by the student upon approval with the instructor, advisor to the work. Submitted ins a perfect mock-up of photos or quality digital printings pasted in a masterly prepared album - image book. An emphasis is placed on the conceptual work and treatment of the image composition of the photographs. Aside from the graphic set-up of the pages, the publication - book must have a cca. A4 format of the following essentials.
a) Graphic title treatment with the title, author name and school (FAMU)
b) Book (graphics) completion introducing the topic explication text. (I poetry)
c) Book jacket with all the essentials
d) 15-25 photos
