Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course aim is to manage the basics of image composition in theory and in practice. Assignments require an ability in analytical research and lead to independent artistic work.

Mode of study:

Analysis of exercises. Screening work, in relation to the topic. Independent artistic work.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

A general knowledge of image composition theory is required.

Recommended optional programme components:

No elective requirements.

Course contents:

This course expands theory and practice knowledge in the composition of the photo image. The fundamental topic is still-life. This is connected to the reconstruction and interpretation of a given basis, confirms the ability to use the particular potential of the photographic image. Individual tasks provide sufficient space for creativity and requires the corresponding technical quality.

Tasks: (exercise 2P4)

Complete a collection of still-life (minimum of 8 photos), style and concept is determined by each student in an explication which is submitted before beginning work. This work be free photography. Upon agreement with the instructor, the subsequent form of the collection presentation is defined.

Deadlines: submission of photos by the end of the Summer semester.

Technical requirements: format and technical execution upon agreement with the instructor base on the submitted explication, classical and digital print.

Grading:

Graded credit: awarded based on the submitted exercise. Graded is to what extent the assignment was fulfilled, originality and quality.

Attendance: 60% attendance in classes and participation in required group consultations established at the beginning of instruction are required.
