The aim of the course is to find and become aware of the strength of gesture and its particular expressive potential. Theory and practice of the art where the main emphasis is placed on the actor's poise and ability to extract from reality significant indications and signals in impressive and simple forms.
- Mode of study:

Intensive instruction module taking place at UVS Poněšice. Part of instruction is practical physical exercise. Appropriate exercise attire is necessary with no printing and in neutral colors.

This course provides a basic insight into acting from an anthropological point-of-view. No particular preparations are required.

Gestural and mime acting are part of pantomime and animated film.
Curriculum:
Parts of the actor's body and their use.
Creating a pose.
Extracting from observations in reality.
Poise as the basis for the creation of a character and poise as the expression of emotion. Theory of the genesis of gesture and its function.
Human non-verbal communication, its inherent laws, why body language is the basic expression skill of man.
Though exercises students will come closer to and understand expression in movement from the acting viewpoint. Creating movement in time and space. Study of characters, their main signals, body build, gesture and mimicry. Classification of poise and gestures of characters, emotions and their use in playing out a situation.
Originality in acting.
Credit conditions: ex: Cr/3 - for 100%

Through etude studies, to approach and expand awareness of movement expression from the actor's perspective. Forming lead gestures in time and space. Study of characters, their main characteristics, body structures, gestures and mimicry.

Every human being is capable of expressive movement, because movment is one of the first manifestations of life. An actor can become anyone desired. Understanding the function of a gesture and the mutual relations of individual parts of the human body is a process founded on the performance of body exercise systems. The pantomime principle of acting (embodiement) is the principle basis for any acting expression.
Group maximum is 15.
