Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Directing students will learn how to work with actors in a dialogue driven dramatic situation. Filmed upon original script which can be executed with a continuous take in a three camera set-up. In working with actors, emphasis should be placed on conveying the appropriate dramatic beats and moments through blocking and action choices that have been adequately rehearsed.

Students will also become familiar with establishing and directing within a three camera set-up. Also, while assisting on other projects, they will gain experience with live switching, according to the pre-established technical script of the director.

Students should also strive to properly manage the time of their cast and crew, both in pre-production and during production. And, as in live TV situations, will be expected to complete shooting within established time limits.

Cinematography students will learn to light in a TV studio and to establish and work with a three camera set-up, while managing three camera operators simultaneously. When assisting on other student?s projects, Cinematography students will work as camera operators.

Screenwriting students will experience how to develop a sitcom situation and framework and how to participate on realisation.
