To become aware of various tools for working with actors.

To become aware of actor´s recources and various training techniques.

To gain confidence working with actors using effective tools.

Lecture, in-classs exercises.

Some prior experience working with actors is recommended but not required

Recommended optional programme components:

Participation at a casting (as actor auditioning for a role)

Course contents:

This course aims to provide students with tools for working with actors, and practice using them.

Judith Weston. Directing Actors (Weisse Productions,1996.)

Eugenio BArba. The Secret Art of the Performer.

Lovell and Kramer (editors). Screenacting (Routledge, 1999).

Assessment methods and criteria:

Participation in class exercises, attendance.

Course is offered on a pass / fail basis. For credit, student must have 70 % attendance.
