1. Exercise Place and Memory
(intermedia exercise)
Students, alone search for and find a important place, from a personal point of view or local history perspective or so called great events viewpoint. They then, perform „research“ into that place, which is made up of a collection of memorial material („documentaries“ or statements) and investigate the relationship among its elements. During this process the student re-evaluates the relationship of the selected place. The change in stance is set in the resulting piece. In further phases the student selects correspondent expressive tools for providing the informational and emotional potential of the memory of the place and completes the piece. Emphasis is placed on the ability to independently interpret reality, animate it with their personal presentation, care and passion and provide that to others.
2. Data visualization using the application Processing
3. Sound interactivity / image (software MaxMSP, Jitter or PureData),
Students create the sound and/or image evironment which interacts with the external changes in conditions. Students may work individually or together on one project.

The creation of this course is a reaction to long-term experience with student limits in or significant disproportional knowledge of the basic use and context of audio-visual technology. It is intended primarily for 1st year students in Audio-visual studies. Other students are welcomed if space allows.
Instruction is focused on an understanding of the relationships of and entry-level skills in working with HW and SW in developing image and sound. There are a number of examples for this topic on the internet. For instruction we have selected the most appropriate considering the needs of our students.
