Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course aim is to evoke an active interest in the issues of progressive animated film. In this case Czech film. About the need to know it and its history, important figures and artistic trends. Each student will receive the task to complete and present a short paper on a selected artist or their works which they consider progressive including examples. Discussions will be moderated on given topics and will be possible to supplement with additional examples and even screenings.

General knowledge of the history of Czech animated film and its world context.

No elective requirements necessary for completing this course.

Course contents:

Students in the 2nd year have completed the required course „History of Animated Film 1 and 2“ whose content is a history of world animated creations (The Czech Republic is not excepted). Students in the subsequent summer semester will complete also the course „Figures of Czech Animation.“ Completing the exam they demonstrate that they have sufficient knowledge in the study and its history. We focus particularly on the following figures:
