?GLOBAL FAMILY PROJECT? - Related to the 60th anniversary of The Family of Man in 2015

The seminar will concentrate on theoretical and practical aspects of documentary photography in its various forms. We will discuss and analyse in lectures different approaches from historical images up to contemporary photographers and their individual photographic expressions. The course places special emphasis on a personal project with the theme ?Family. Life?, with the goal of practical application of theoretical knowledge.

Students will gain hands-on experience and individual guiding during creating a documentary photography essay. By joining the ?Family. Life? project - curated by Michael Davis from Syracuse University in the US - students will have the chance to be part in a global and worldwide project with more then 40 Universities signed in.

All students will present their final project in the end of the semester and will be evaluated according to the progress and corporation during the semester and the final result/presentation.

The course will be held in English language.
