Learning outcomes of the course unit:

To increase the composition technique level of the student in historical techniques and styles as a necessary equipping of a composer and, of course, part of the education in composition study.

Mode of study:

exercises 1 hour per week.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Knowledge of harmony and countepoint at the conservatory level.

Recommended optional programme components:

Independent study of corresponding music literature, listening experience and auditory analysis.

Course contents:

a) mastering technique and form of vocal counterpoint to the motet - madrigal level

b) mastering technique and form of instrumental counterpoint and form of Baroque music (fuge, suite, aria, prelude)

c) mastering technique and form in classicsm (ex. minuet, sonata)

d) study of other styles (ex. Romatic, Medieval forms and techniques)
