Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course aim is the mastery of the economical use of rehearsal time which the conductor has before the Study-year concert. This is a detailed analysis of the conducting of compositions and rehearsing soloists. The rehearsal schedule is one of the most important skills of the future conductor.

Course contents:

Theory preparations for rehearsal with a professional body, scheduling, establishing working procedures and priorities, manners of performance, expression, behaviour, creation of model situations through questions and answers, selection of appropriate reactions to orchestra impulses, etc.

Recommended or required reading:

Selection of compostions is determined by the public orchestra concert dramaturgy.

Simulated analysis of subsequent rehearsals with an orchestra. Preparations for a concert. Credit.
