Acquisition of a basic overview of development of the organ from antiquity to modern times and a tracing of all the important development periods of organ music from the Middle-ages to the works of contemporary composers.

This course follows the development of the organ from antiquity through the middle-ages, Gothic and Renaissance. Additionally it follows the development of the instrument in individual areas (Italy, Southern Germany, Northern Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, France and Bohemia).
