- Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Course lecture and exercise sections. Issues of period descriptions of performance practices and possible understandings and measure of updating for contemporary performance use. Working with a text. Searching for the substantial. Arranging into the context of the period, genre, composers language, relationship amound practices on individual instruments.

Text analyses, essays, study comparisons, bearing in sources, a critical view of performance in sound samples.
- Prerequisites and co-requisites:

On-going collaboration in class during the semester. Discussions over one book from the recommended literature according to individual agreement.
- Recommended optional programme components:

Knowledge of resources and literature regarding the performance requirements as well as period relationships with other arts at the same time. An individual return to issues from the first semester course.
- Course contents:

Developing the antology of source texts as a partial trial of particular literature regarding keyboard performance - Scheidt, Frescobaldi, Diruta, F. Couperin, J.P. Rameu, C.P.E.Bach, Marpurg, Tuerk, etc. Also other music types supplemented with the listening to of appropriate recordings and their potential comparison. As well, an openness to additional topic according to student needs and desires.
