Course contents:

The bass clarinet is part of many music groups. This instrument is extensively used in orchestras, as a solo instrument and other music genres. This course gradually provides students with all the skills and knowledge needed in playing the bass clarinet. This course focuses on orchestra literature, primarily bass clarinet solos. Most clarinetists select the alto flute for its use in orchestras. The bass clarinet is quite prominent in symphonic aand opera works. Therefore, great space is given to orchestra literature. Even for those not interested in orchestra playing, there is a presentation of individual orchestra parts but also instruction in solo literature, literature with piano accompaniment or other chamber groups is prepared. Considering differences in the students ability in playing the bass clarinet can be quite diverse, individual paths of instruction are chosen. The reason the students wish to play the Bass clarinet is also decisive for the course methodology.
