Learning outcomes of the course unit:

This course provides students with an awareness of orchestral literature and practices the most important solos that an orchestra musician may encounter. In all courses, all composers gradually appear with their solos for French horn in an orchestra. This course works with the orchestral studies of Albin Frehsee, Emil Wipperich, Johannes Rtizkowsky and Czech Philharmonic parts.

Instrument skills corresponding to the student study year and profile.

Recommended optional programme components:

Chamber literature in wind duets and trios.

Course contents:

Students acquire awareness of orchestral literature and practices the most important solos that an orchestra musician may encounter. In all courses, all composers gradually appear with their solos for French horn in an orchestra. This course works with the orchestral studies of Albin Frehsee, Emil Wipperich, Johannes Rtizkowsky and Czech Philharmonic parts.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods:

Continuing participation of students in symphony and opera orchestra auditions.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Assessment of instrument and orchestra playing. Fulfilling the established range of repertoire. AKS certification. All concluded with awarding of credit.
