Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course provides students with a knowledge of orchestra literature and practices the most significant solos which the orchestra musician may encounter. In all courses all composers are gradually covered as well as their important solos for tuba in an orchestra. This course works with domestic and foreign editions of orchestral studies and specialized parts for orchestras in the Czech Republic (ČF, FOK, SOČR, ND).

Chamber literature in wind duets and trios

Course contents:

The course provides students with a knowledge of orchestra literature and practices the most significant solos which the orchestra musician may encounter. In all courses all composers are gradually covered as well as their important solos for tuba in an orchestra. This course works with orchestral studies - Hoza, Meschke, Grigoriev and Czech Philharmonic parts.

Recommended or required reading:

Fundamental symphony repertoire of the 20th century music.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods:

On-going participation by the students in symphony and opera orchestra auditions.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Assessment of instrument and orchestra playing. Fulfillment of the established repertoire. AKS certification. All concluded with the award of credit.
