Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course aim is to develop the choreography experience of the students through various choreography tasks. Through these they resolve issues in the relationship of dance and everyday movement, movement stylizations, relationship of dance and music (sound), dance and visual arts, etc. Emphasis is on original creative activity.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Knowledge of the fundamentals of composition, ability to create a movement motif for given music in real time. Experience in working with a performer and multiple performers. Regular attendance in lessons.

Course contents:

The course program offers further manners of creating a choreography. This course focuses on minimalism in dance based on an understanding of minimalistic procedures in choreography. New movement structure creation procedures. The understanding of these procedures and inspiration in other types of art (primarily in music composition) and their application in dance composition. Testing and including chance priniciples, childrens games and other creation possibilities. Creation of a choreographic etudes based on a minimalistic music composition, minimalistic etude in silence, rhythm (special sound accompaniment), working with other than minimalistic music.
