Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The exercise purpose is a greater development of professional skills in recording musical instruments or musical group and the processing of the music signal for use in a autonomic sound piece. The exercises, in particular, contribute to a growth in experience in recording in unknown concert or temple spaces. Exercises are executed in team collaborations with a musical director or independently. Individual exercises include stereophonic and multichannel formats. As well are cross-overs into so non-artificial music.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Knowledge of Sound technology, music acoustics, musical instrument and the human voice acoustics. Professional skills at the HAMU Sound Design bachelor's degree level.

Course contents:

Recording of solo instruments (singing), chamber ensembles, chamber orchestras, symphonic orchestras with soloists, choral ensembles, Recording vocal-instrumental pieces with organ. Modifying and combining microphone systems, use of spot. Live mixing with simutaneous execution of time, dynamics, color and spatial signal adjustments in recording a piece or sound design of a stage piece. Post-production mixing, editing, color adjustments, overal dynamics and space of an arranged recording and automizing the signal processing. Programming an extensive stage piece. Ambiophonic performance.

The practicals, in part, originate from the sound needs of other studies at the Music and Dance faculty and practical offerings at the HAMU Sound studio. As well a secondary opportunity is recording at Czech Radio, the Rudofinum and in the instructors activities in his own practice.
