The course aim is an introduction to media of radio and its individual elements.

- Course contents:

The lecture over the history of Czech Radio sources radio documentary archives. It is supplemented by historical photographs and sound samples from gramaphone rolls, transparencies, gramaphone disks and tape recordings.
Lecture over the internal struction of radion and about individual stations
Excursions to selected radio workplaces including discussions with workers.
How to make a newscast and how to set up direct broadcast. Sports newscasts. Sound examples.
Speaking and drama programs. Examples of producing an original radio play. A visit to a drama recording and discussions with the director. Listening to stereophonic recordings, „Flight into Danger“ and discussions with the sound engineer who executed the work.
Music original production from the broadcast booth. Excursion to those workplaces. The function of the announcer and moderator.
Radio technology. Development of technology for the beginnings of radio in the Czech Republic to today. Perpectives in radio technology and the start of digitalization.
Use of computer technology in radio. Archiving recordings and future trends. Exchange of recordings using the EBU network.
