Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The purpose of the course is to develop listening skills and primarily listening memory in sound color and a sensitivity to a change in color and other properties of music sounds.

Mode of study:

Media recording samples.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Knowledge of sound technology, music acoustic and electro-acoustics.

Recommended optional programme components:

Course contents:

Signal compression, side-chain, expander

Dither, noise shaping, truncation, A/D and D/A transfer

Editing stereophonic recordings, fade-in, fade-out

Directional characteristics of microphones, time compensation for microphone signals

Artificial reverb, Lexicon 960L and Bricasti M7 algorithmic principles
