Students will be capable of solo and chamber music performances as either the lead of a group of percussion instruments or solois in symphonic orchestra.

Listenings to concerts and recordings of music for percussion. Academy Chamber Soloists' concerts. Assisting orchestras. One's solo and chamber projects. Orchestra academies (Prague Philharmonic, Czech Philharmonic)

Part of the main study. Extending basic playing technique - technical exercises, etudes. Orchestral studies - solos and parts of symphony and chamber repertoire. Solo concert compositions for tympani.

Technique exercises under supervision. Managing individual approaches to playing technique. Composition practice. Group investigation of the content and form of interpretation in solo compositions.

Initiative and creative approach throughout the semester. Performance in department exams (1st. year). Possible year's concert (in repetition of couse in later years of study - graded by the instructor).
