Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Ability to lead the execution work on costuming and masks according to one's own artistic designs and models. Preparation of productions for DISK, the HAMU Opera Studio and for professional theatres, film and TV. Implementation of the Summary task in the DAMU spaces in collaboration with other departments. Knowledge of materials and technologies for successfull execution of designs in all branches of of drama and audio-visual works.

Mode of study:

Studio consultation instruction. Investigating potential material for executing a costuming project. Artistic development of common materials and their transformation into a special theatre form. Study of historical costumes and their review in the interpretation of one's own concept in the materials implementation of the costuming narration. Creating masks and practicing make-up during the course of costuming proposals consultations.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Not only artistic ability, but also manual ability and skill and knowledge of technology.

Course contents:

Documenting design, selecting materials, realizing costumes and masks. Patination, coloring, making of details, makeup. Supervising DISK workshops. Participation in rehearsals.

Study materials are related to individual titles being produced, projects and technologies.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods:

Exercises, developing material appropriate for completing a visual proposal. Participation in the implementation of an audio-visual creation with FAMU.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Credit is awarded based on:

participation in rehearsals related to performance

ability to independently execute one's propositions or manage the execution of other costuming proposals

appropriate selection of material for implementation and processing.

knowledge of the basic tailoring documentation related to execution.
