The study aim is to contextualize set-design in theatre arts and arts in general.
In the history of set-design (European and domestic) students will learn a respect for the history of the study.
To awaken in the student an interest in the diversity of graphic viewpoints.
To have a bearing in the historical and current material with consideration of one's own work.

General overview of the history of set-design
Basic knowledge of the history of Czech set-design.

Regular theatre performance attandance.
- Course contents:

Set-design (theatre space and costuming in the widest sense) from the beginning of the development of theatre to the end of the 19th century. Set-design is presented as one possible artistic expression. During instruction the development of theatre space as an expression of the period and social conditions and relation to the history overall is covered. Part of instruction is attendance at theatre performances and their group review, and also, a course paper.
