Learning outcomes of the course unit:

From sound to intonation, choral and instrumental ensemble of harmonious sound.

Mode of study:

1. Lecture.

2. Twentieth century, Jazz „standards“, adjustment of jazz compositions, orchestrations according to playing opportunities, playing all types of musical instruments, solo and ensemble singing, working with a microphone and microphone port, improvisation, analysis of seen (music notation) and heard music (music recording).

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Precision of vocal performance, expression, dynamic, instrumental play.

Recommended optional programme components:

Participation in a presentation of the faculty „Sometimes Orchestra“.

Course contents:

Curriculum:

20th Century choral creation, swing, blues, rumba, samba, bossa nova, etc.

Syllabus:

V. Tormis, P.Eben, B.Martinů, K.Penderecki, D.Elington, C.Jobim. C.Corea etc.).

Adaptations of jazz compositions: The Singers Unlimited, Manhattan Transfer, Take Six, J. Ježek (adapted by M.Kořínek and V.Šrámek).

Also practice in compositions according to the instructions of the senior teacher in the actor's workshop

A. Bruckner: Choral mense

W. A. Mozart: Requiem

A. Dvořák: Requiem

Notation and recordings of work by the mentioned composers.
