Learning outcomes of the course unit:

From club events to conferences, acrobatic circuses in large halls to stadiums and all types of festivals are managed by the same rules and principles. What are the international standards and how the local legislation is understood is the content of the course.

The course content is an analysis of production, organization, audience and employee safety, event financing, including money flows and an analysis of expense elements and economic considerations.

According to the layout, the lectures will take place with the presence of foreign lecturers. In the past participants have been: Carl A.H. Martin, lecturer at the London International Production Meeting at the International Live Music Conference (ILMC) and Christopher Brosh from the Melt festival.

If possible the students will attempt the practical aspect, that is, to arrange a concert, theatre performance, conference or party. They may take part in the organization of an event abroad. Part of instruction may be attendances at, visits to and reviews of foreign production preparations in the Czech Republic or in surrounding countries.

In the past students glimpsed under the covers of preparations for groups such as Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slayer, Linkin Park and Green Day.

Mode of study:

Instruction is guided through interactive communications throughout the year. This is a collection of lectures and analyses of issues with perspective examples and related email communications, and possible meetings and consultations with local international professionals in the given area.

Production practice in a theatre performance or other event, ideally open-air

Course contents:

Production and organization of life events is a young and dynamically developing global business whose rules and regulations are still being defined. There is a reason to be in it.

1. Introduction - internal structure, concept definitions

2. Team collaboration - dividing interests, environment analysis

3. Goal definition - financing, resources

4. attempts as realization - according to available resources

5. Excursions

6. Workshop - broadening knowledge, introducing the contexts of local and international reality, networking
