- Course contents:

Introductory lecture, as an introduction to the field of Phenomenology. This will contain the brief characteristics of the importance of Husserl, supported by and expication of „Kartesian Meditations“. What do things say themselves? How to understand things in the original. Further challenges of Phenomenology as a extra-scientific knowledge with the requirements of hard science.
Transition to the importance of Heidegger and his departure from the two-thousand year tradition of metaphysical thought. Introduction to issues in the book „Being and Time“. Particularly „being“ which is open to the concept of time.
Then the course will move to readings and attempts at comprehending the position of Patocky linked to theatre. This is primarily 2 analyses of Antigone, and also an analysis of Chekov's Ivanova, „The world of Ivan Vyskočil.“
This is all concluded with a block of Phenomenological topics in which issues will be topicalized linked to thatre, for example, The Spoken Word, Picture of the world, Birth of an artistic piece.
This section will be, aside from the introduction of several topics by the lecturer, support, particularly by the the ideas that Heidegger held after the publication of „Being and Time“ and how his successors understood them.
