Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Introduce students to the basic issues of set-design in artistic types of theatre.

Mode of study:

Lectures, Text analyses. Set design and visual arts theory. Course paper on a given theory topic.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Knowledge of Fine Arts History.

Recommended optional programme components:

Visits to fine arts exhibitions with consideration of the currently covered theory topics.

Course contents:

The basic meaning of stage design, its function and standing in the theatrical system - basic problems of the field.
