In this seminar students are required to write a screenplay that can be used to film a short exercise.

Course contents:

Students propose and present ideas, submit sketches of individual characters, basic plot, first screenplay version and its subsequent edits according to a strict schedule. Their work can then be justly evaluated and read before all students of the study year.

1) Introduction to drama forms. Classical screenplay construction

2) Narrative purpose

3) The ten commandments of short film

4) How to tell a story.

5) Character and dramatic conflict

6) Drama charater desires and needs

7) Protagonist development

8) Constructing the story according to drama turns

9) „Crisis decision“

10) Character vs. event

11) Empathy and identifying with characters
