Jiří Suchý ? Jiří ŠlitrLecturer's Curriculum Vitae: Stanislav Milota (b. 9 Feb. 1933, Prague) a Czech cameraman and signer of Charter 77. After 1989, he also serve as the head of the President's office. He was a member of the Radio and Television Broadcast Council of the Czech Republic State Fund for the suppor and development of Czech Cinematography. His wife is Vlasta Chramostova. From 1948 to 1951, he taught Barrandov film technicians, and completed graphics school. After serving in the Czech Military in the Military Film Dept. he returned to Barrandov where he was given the position of second cameraman. He debuted as a cameraman in 1963 thanks to Jan Prochazka. He shot several short films with director Vladimir Sise. In 1965 he shot Recital by Jiří Suchý and Jiří Šlitr, directed by Ján Roháč. In 1968, upon arrival of the Warsaw Pact troops, he shot in Prague a number of documentary shots. In January, 1969 he documented the burial of Jan Palach. His last feature-film was Spalovač mrtvol in which wife, Vlasta Chramostova acted. Later in Israel he shot his final film in official production - Everyone turned away for East German Television with director Thomas Fantl.
After Normalization he was let go from Barrandov and was not allow to shoot films. He earned money with his wife making table lamps, distributed to friends. He signed Charter 77, and also helped organize home theatres, some of which he recorded.
He lost an eye and after 1989 did not return to camera work. No less, the material he shot at the end of the 1960s premiered as several films. Immediately after 1989 was the medium length film Zmatek. After this he became the first head of the President's secretary's office for Vaclav Havel, which he later left. From 1994 to 1996 he was a member of the Czech Republic State Foundation Council for the support and development of Czech cinematography. From 1997 to 2001 he was a member of the Radio and Television Broadcast Council from which he also voluntarily left.
In 2001 he received the František Kriegl Award. In 2002 some material from the burial of Jan Palach was found and premiered in Moscow under the title Jan 69. In 2007 he acted with his wife the main roles for a videoclip for the single „Plan“ for the group Kryštof, which was an expression of the admiration for the pair (the song itself describes the relationship between a husband and wife written by the lead singer for his girlfriend). He also was awarded the TGM medal for loyaty to his legacy.
