Learning outcomes of the course unit:

This course is spread over 2 semesters. The course acquaints students with the fundamental standards of TV broadcast in the Czech Republic, broadcast principles, internal structure and television operations and television production.

Course contents:

Legislation affecting television broadcast in the Czech Republic. Basic differences between public and private television. Dual system.

The labor code and its application in television. Collective agreements, internal regulations, impact on program production. Protective and professional organization in relation to television production and broadcast.

Broadcast scheme, production task

Television accounting (sources, manners of financing, investment types, external and intenal investment).

Implementation research in the production of a program, budgets and budget estimates, expenses, approvals. Differences in individual television genres.

The shooting period, production plan, shooting plan, daily reports. Differences in individual television genres.

Copyright agreements in television program production (journalism, live broadcast, social event broadcast, sports broadcasts). Agreements with performing artists, extras, episodes, ensembles. Particulars of children's contracts.

The production crew: placement of individual crew members, individual professions, special members of the television crew, superiors and subordinates. Differences in producing television genres.

Types of television genres (production particulars). Manners of securing television program production according to genre (special production, co-production, and others). Distributed film and Czech television. Extent and manner of collaboration.
