The History of Photography is a series of lectures that traces developments in creative and documentary photography from its beginning till the 1980´s.

It unites factografical and interpretative approaches.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Grading: presentation, participation in discussion, lecture participation, (minimum 60% attendance is required, exam.

Written test covering the knowledge of basic facts of the history of photography. Oral exam on the same topic follows if the students passes the test.

Assignments: Each student is to prepare one presentation per semester on a topic in the history of photography (a particular artist, style, visual tendency or book, etc.) - topic choice is by the student bu must be approved by the instructor. The student will make a shor 15 min. presentation on the topic, presenting facts and topic analysis.

The student is to prepare visual material for the presentation and must submit a list of bibliography and other resources used.
