Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Introduction to the activities of an exhibition and artistic collections curator, individual institutions (museum, galleries, art halls) and photo festivals, types of exhibition catalogues, and exhibition organizational preparations. The course will methodologically prepare students for writing the master's thesis, portforlio preparations, etc.

Students will be guided to independent consideration and knowledge, critical approaches to art and the surrounding world, accepting responsibility for one's work. Various approaches in the perception of art from the viewpoint of the artist, performer and the public will be displayed.

A condition ofr evaluation is obligatory participation of at least 60% of the lecture.

Course contents:

Course description:

The course will be devoted to the roll of the photographer in the modern world. This course will be conducted at two inter-mingling levels - the potential for presenting photography in the context of modern art and a group consideratoin of exhibitions visited and one's own photography collection. The topics discussed will develop from the current exhibition policies of individual institutions, social and political situations (selection, significant events etc.) and the submission of student work.

On location, at exhibits, students will be introduced to exhibition and art collection curator activities, individual institutions (museum, galleries, art halls) and photo festivals, types of exhibition catalogues, and exhibition organization preparations. The course will methodologically prepare students for writing the master's thesis and portfolio preparations, etc.

Students will be guided to independent thought and knowledge, critical skills in the approach to art and the surrounding world, accepting responsibility for one's art work. Various approaches in the perception of art from the viewpoint of the artist, performer and public will be displayed.
