Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Introduction to the practice of presenting the history of photographic processes and the basics of photography technology in new exposure Intercameraa in NTM (Photography Studio and Prostor, color, movement). Excursions to modern expositions and their bases, introduction to preventative conservation practice of exhibition collections.

Mode of study:

This module takes place in exponents of the National Technical Museum in Prague. Students, first, in excursions are acquainted with the collection and interactice exponents in recently opened exhibits. As well the students are acquainted with the selected approach to topic presentations which rest in a presentation of historical technology with accompanying photographic processes and applied media in the given historical context. They are exhibited with the machines and devices and resulting works. Later the students are introduced to with preventative collection conservation methods for long term exhibits and manners of interactive presentations of basic approaches which photographers worked with in the period of classical photography. Students complete an essay in which they review the given topics in the exhibits in relation to the context of other presentations of photography (galleries, museums, media).
