Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course aim is to guide the students to an innovative treatment of the graphics aspect of the task in advertising photography. An emphasis is placed on creativity and conceptual grasp of the overall issue, unity of the image and typographic aspect of the task.

Mode of study:

Graded credit: Each section is evaluation by the corresponding instructor separately and at the end of the year, at the summary exam, a final grading is determined in a conjoint evaluation by all instructors.

A condition for grading is the submission of all photos in electronic form in TIF format with 300dpi resolution in a dimension of photography pages of 250mm.

Completion of „Advertising and Fashion Photography 1.“

Tasks: (Exercise 2P6)

Submitted are technically complete photos or diapositives and proofs of the graphic treatment:

1/ comsumer goods - photo: 1 photo of a sortiment of any type of product.

a/ for quality - that is, developed subject depiction and retaining the cultivated artistic treatment

b/ so the photo captivates the viewer with its concept and artistic treatment and can be further used in graphics processing.

graphics: advertising page or two-page catalogue advertisement or other printing

(photo may be used once or more)

2/ product - photo: 1 photo of any product - intended for advertisement placard

a/ for quality - that is sufficiently descriptive

b/ so it is obvious what kind of product it is, but primarily that the photo attracts through its concept and artistic treatment.

graphics: photo with one's own slogan

3/ model - photo: 1 photo using a model (human body or a part of it) for an advertising billboard or city-light - intended for promoting a non-profit, charitable or humanitarian organization.

Submitted in B/W or color, min. format 30x40cm or color diapositive (min. format 6x9cm) and print of the graphics.

Grading:

Graded credit. Each part is evaluated by the relevant instructor separately and at then end of the year at the summary exam a final grade is given from a group evaluation of all instructors.

A condition for evaluation is the submission of all photos in digital form in TIF format in 300dpi resolution in the dimension of a longer photo page 250mm
