Course contents:

The aim of the classes is on-going preparations for the thesis for the state master's exam. The method is through group discussions of students, students and instructors about theses concepts.

The first step is the search for an appropriate topic for the thesis. Students are guided in bringing several topics in the form of, at least, brief synopses. Based on these proposals arise items which are the most vital of these topics considering the abilities and interests of the students, intended extent, or use for other Sound Dept. students and professional public. In this step, in prinicple, it is possible to eliminate topics which are, at first glance, have potential, but for some reason not appropriate for the theses (most frequently, topics too broad than intended for a thesis, or the topic extends beyond the methodological and research skills of the student.

Upon finding a topic the student is guided to further expand and refine the original observations. Thje detail required for the thesis helps the student refine and/or correct the content of the thesis before the student begins to work. The thesis should be a representative, respectable and, mainly, well thought representation of a Sound Dept. graduate.

Recommended or required reading:

A study of selected Sound Dept. theses and other professional literature according to the individual intentions of the thesis task.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods:

Classes.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Grading is awarded based on class participation and submission of a synopsis and development of the foundations of the future graduation paper.
