Course contents:

About the history of animation of Northern countries.

The history of animated film was begun just 100 years ago. Along with the film track, which maps the century of Swedish animation, AniFilm festival program curator Midhat Ajanović (animated film historian and instructor at University College West in Sweden) presents a lecture on this topic. From its beginnings to the present, Swedish pieces profile throughout tradition the approaches to animation and in great innovative steps.

Namely, for example, one of the first abstract animated films in history, the revolutionary Diagonal Symphony (Viking Eggeling, 1924) or the alternative approaches of the new generation. The represent examples of the comics of Max Andersson or completely off-beat concepts of puppet film by Johannes Nyholm or Niki Lindroth von Bahr.
