Students receive complex insight into social/political/cultural landmarks of the past century development of Central European region and its connection to cinema.

Lecture with excerpts of films followed by the screening of one complete selected film.

The lectures do not presuppose any previous knowledge of Central European Cinematography therefore there are no conditions for registration.

The course is based on considering historical and cultural background of five post-communist countries of Central Europe and to show its role for development of cinema. There are considered key names and films of the whole region of the period mainly after WWII. This event and its impact for art and cinema is considered as a common collective experience of several generations
