Learning outcomes of the course unit:

A reinforcement of the aesthetic perception of the film genre. Films are selected so they will have a relevant relationship to 20th century history and the present topics. Screenings are accompanied by the discussion with a guest - director of the film, artist or intellectual.

Course contents:

Screening of significant Czech or international films of the past and present, followed by a debate with a guest - either author of the film or artist or intellectual. Screening gives an opportunity to open various topic within its context.

Recommended or required reading:

In the FAMU Library - information about writers, director memoirs, dictionaries, complete selection of creators' works.

This course is an elective for all AMU students

Assessment methods and criteria:

Students reflects one of the films screened in an topical analysis which is submitted by December 31, 2014 via e-mail to vit.janecek@famu.cz.
