Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Slide show of the selected images up to number of 16 in total.

Student learns how to tell the story using images only.

The aim is to FIND the story not MAKE it UP.

Mode of study:

Seminar + exercise.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Ideally DSLR camera. But any device with photocamera would do.

Recommended optional programme components:

Course contents:

Student captures a little narration without a possibility to use either motion picture or sound. Final sequences of photographs will serve as an example of storytelling.

Variety of shots (long shot, medium shot, close up) and resembling the movement (panning, tilting) as well as change of depth of field combined with change in focus are the means, which help you in capturing the narration. Don't also forget about different focal lengths of your lenses; zoom-in zoom-out brings a remarkable action feeling.

Student either invents a little story or tries to make one out while walking around. Either Prague or human being is the character.
