Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course aim is to acquaint students with the potential of interactive applications in audiovisual arts.

Students are to be able to link and use simple control elements (sensors, controllers) for sound or image.

At the beginning important works and productions using interactive elements will be presented. Their pupose and definition of various treatments will be discussed.

Subsequently, basic commercial tools used for the control of multimedia content using MIDI and OSC protocols, commercially used available sensors and controlling units and microcontrollers will be presented. An important part will be devoted to a demonstration of the basics of electonics.

The course links interactivity and Physical Computing 2-3, which is consultations over student component projects.

Mode of study:

Explication, Introduction to issues, Group detailed implementation.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

General computer knowledge.

Recommended optional programme components:

Public presentation of the implemented work.
