Students completing the module may, if interested, independently work at the transfer workplace for 8mm film.

Course contents:

The course aim is an acquaintance with the preparations and digitalization of information for the narrow 8mm format, including pre-editing preparations. Students will be lead into the 8mm diagnostic, adjustment, adhesion and cleaning processes before digitalization. Also, they will be acquainted with various methods of scanning on a Retro-8 device including composite scanning techniques. During the course each student will independently scan part of an 8mm film and prepare the acquired material for editing in Avid or FCP.
