Learning outcomes of the course unit:

To provide students with infomation about sound in a music context and enable them to experiment with sound through physical contact with electronic musical instruments.

This module is intended for beginners and advanced sound sythesis students.

Course contents:

A fundamental knowledge of sound, basics of sound synthesis and music acoustics. Sound synthesis on electonic instruments - Moog Voyager, Yamaha DX7, etc.

Experimenting with sound

Assessment methods and criteria:

100% attendance.

Work in the module will be concluded with a paper written at home (2 standard pages - 3600 characters) discussing the use of sythetic sound in the life of the student, their environment and the world in general.
