Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Introduction to the phonetic, grammatic and lexical bases of the language.

Ability to react in simple everyday situations.

Mode of study:

Reading, Listenings, presentations and practice of lexis and grammar structures, moderated dialogues.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

This course is intended for those who have not previously studied the language.

Recommended optional programme components:

No elective requirements.

Course contents:

Lessons 1-4 of the main coursebook

Grammar: pronunciation, gender and articles, noun and adjective plurals, the „c'e, ci sono“ phrases, case relationships, 1st and 2nd class verb tenses in the present., formal address, tense auxiliary verbs 'essere' and 'avere.'

Topics: Greetings, Introductions, family, studies.
