Learning outcomes of the course unit:

1. Investigating one's artist profile and according to this the selection of one's personal fundamental repertoire.

2. Supplementing study with domestic or world novelties.

3. Issues of personality, self-actualization, uniqueness and sovereignty of each student.

4. Reinforcing self-confidence.

Mode of study:

On-going participation in symphony and opera orchestra auditions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Instrument skills at the level corresponding to the study year and student profile.

Course contents:

This course should intensively concentrate on the shaping of the student. This means the maximal development and effort for advancement primarily in the area of tone quality and musicality and setting an unmistakable copyright. Aside from the study of the usual fundamental domestic and world repertoire, important is a good bearing in compositions which correspond to the type and characteristics of the student and in which the positives of the talent may be applied. There is an intensification of playing from memory which till now has been sporadic, a goal of achieving maximum intensive internal experience in performance whether in music of long past and in the comtemporary in particular. As well an effort to find new interpretations in the modern composition language. Further strenghthening of self-confidence and significant freedom in compostion selection as a expression of great liberty and trust which is provided by higher education.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Student performance is assessed in all facets of performance. First of all the composition the student played is examined and individual pitfalls of performance are pointed out. Also assessed is how the student dealt with these problems. Noted, as well, is the playing level of the student in terms of technique, intonation, sound, dynamics and performance.
