Present students the basic concepts of choreology, and potential approaches to its definition.

Presentation of the given issues with subsequent discussions, analyses of definitions.
- Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Knowledge of basic dance concepts and their content at least at the dance conservatory graduate level. Analytical skills.
- Course contents:

Dance theory as a Choreology discipline. Possiple approaches to the definition of dance, its fundamental types from a viewpoint of the function it fulfills in society. Definition of dance technique, its techique-aesthetic principles based on academic (classical) technique. Development of dance terminology. Defining concepts connected to the theatrical concept of dance and a dance work: ballet, movement theatre, dance theatre, etc.
