The course main aim is a systematic introduction of HAMU with intersections between culture and art.

Credit from History of Art 1 and exam in History of Art 2.
- Course contents:

hThe course's main aim is an introduction to the intersections of culture and art. This course is designed as a 4 semester course divided into the following main blocks:
1. Ancient civilization.
2. Arts and culture in the European tradions from the antique to the 19th century.
3. Culture and art in the 20th century and at present.
4. Extra-European cutures
Individual topics are lectured by experts and specialists at various departments and institutes at Charles University and the Czech Republic Academy of Sciences. On occassion other professors from schools outside of Prague and Slovakia may lecture.

The recommended study literature is assigned by the individual lecturers during the lecture cycle. Fundamental literature for all topics is located in the HAMU Library handbook and is intended for attendant study.
