An understanding of basic past theory works and mainly the present regarding analyses of music works and composition.

Regular (at least 75%) attendance in instruction and active participation in discussions. Complete and presented paper analyzing a kinetic structure. Study of assigned literature for the final exam.

Course contents:

Music blocks. Techtonic functions. Motivation and demotivation - topicalization and de-topicalization. External and internal consolidating tools. Fracture. Macro-techtonics - micro-techtonics. The transcendence of music elements. Assembly techniques - assembly, mixing, collage. Composition projects. Tendency of contemporary compositions: principle of fade, indetermination, dodecaphonic balance, refrain technique, symmetry, element restriction, single core composition (model, cryptogram, ?)
