Learning outcomes of the course unit:

1. Study of set-design theory is to introduce the current issues and interpretations of the study and set-design.

2. To introduce the origins and basic principles of set-design and set-design works.

Origins, ideas, forms

Natural and artificial „reality.“

Space - speaking - music

3. Constants - constant elements and components of set-design.

Space, Mass, Time, Movement, Rhythm, Lighting, Sound, Energy, Idea.

Mode of study:

Lectures, Text analyses. Set design and visual arts theory. Course paper on a given theory topic.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Knowledge of Fine Arts History.

Course contents:

Renaissance and Baroque theory essays.
