Learning outcomes of the course unit:

1. Development of music and singing skills in group work. Perception of sound as part of theatre consideration.

2. Contact with the history of music thought development.

3. Unison, perception of group work.

Mode of study:

1. Lecture.

2. Ensemble and solo singing. Playing all types of musical instruments. Working with a microphone. Analysis of written and heard music recordings.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

1. General knowledge of Czech and world music - not limited in genre.

2. General knowledge in reading music notation.

3. Creativity.

4. Non-verbal communication, analysis and review skills.

The student must have a general knowledge of basic music concepts - concurrent attendance of the Music Research course.

Course contents:

Music communication skills are understood as one element of acting in alternative and puppet theatre.

Working with sound and music is understood a one of the participating components of a stage piece with mutual interaction of other components.

1. Excerpts from Gregorian Chorales, Black spiritual, single-voice folk music - Hospodine, pomiluj ny, Svatý Václave, Sekilova's song, Hussite songs, Itś Me O' Lord, I'm Troubled, Deep River, Czech, Moravian, Silesian, Lasky folk songs. the Carpathian Mountain and Rom songs and current selections.

2. Work on the sound element of the semester piece according requirement of the acting studio lead instructor.

3. Intonation precision and sound balancing.
