Closing bachelor's level in Camera studies.

Course contents:

Basic and advanced procedures of digital restoration of cinema pieces. Camera work and use of professional experience for working on restoring old film pieces or historical video recordings. The digital restoration professional and application of work on examples. Use of restoration procedures for contemporary work. Restoring digital DRA and DA recording methods.

Recommended or required reading:

Practical elements in the use of digital or film projectors

Practical elements in the use of an inspection table and entire workflow from identification and selection of source material

Practical elements of historical research, digitalization and restoration of the film image.

Reconstruction of film material in the application of HS-Art Annotator, retouching in PF Clean application and grading in Da Vinci Resolve/Avid Symphony

Practical elements of authoring Digital Cinema Package (DCP) and presentation in digital theatre on an example of a short film and its digital archiving (LTDP).

Assessment methods and criteria:

Min. 50% participation, knowledge from lectures and recommended readings.

Graded course paper: Digital restoration and presentation of a selected scence from an archive film.
