Course contents:

Workshop would like to introduce a crucial idea of swiss psychoanalytic ? C.G.Jung, who´s idea of ?collective unconscious? brought attention to part of psyché, that refers to structure of uncoscious mind, that is shared with a larger group of same people ( community / nationality / mankind...) while its existence doesnt require personal experience. Once explained, this idea can profoundly change student´s perception in visual arts. Despite the seemingly complicated theme, this workshop does not aim into deep explanation in analytical psychology, but leads into enriching students possibilities of perception and understanding of things in larger context. Workshop will emphasize discussion and open dialogue, that will work with a free associations, evoked by fairytales / myths / experiences / or even tarot cards, that Jung didnt see as a fortunetelling atribut, but a complex set of archetypes with meanings that can shift ones perception and leads you to different understanding of the current situation or your problematic behaviour. Workshop will also focus on learned perception and preconceived observation, and plan to enrich students imagination and view on contemporary but archerypal problems, such as media and truth / death and finality / celebrity and hero / love and being in love / hate and mercifulness.

Play, associations and the principle of chance, will together with discussion, play a major part in this workshop, that gives no limitations in genre / technique / or form in

Assessment methods and criteria:

Workshop requires full attendance and active engaging into discussions and process of workshop. Final evaluation will stand on student presentation of his ideas / process / and final artpiece and also on his oral and written explication, that because of obvious reasons has to outstretch the explanations such as ?i felt it like this? or ?i like it like that?.

Evaluation will derive from the student´s attitude and treatment of the workshops theme, his will of embracing the meaning and shown effort to see his ideas and works in a bigger picture and context.
